Barcelona beach evacuated after unexploded bomb found


Sant Sebastià beach in Barcelona, was partially evacuated when a wartime bomb was found in the water. The bomb was found around 25m from the shore by a police officer.

Bomb disposal teams from the police and Spanish navy detonated the bomb after moving it out to sea.

The bomb was thought to originate from the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) and contained approximately 70kg of explosives.
